Daniel’s travels took him to Rome and Florence where he fell in love with the paintings from the Renaissance Era, most specifically the works of Michelangelo.  Daniel most admired the simplicity of the archetypal 16th century artist.  In this spirit, Daniel uses a more subdued color palette to construct the human figure when painting in this genre.  He contrasts the simplicity of color while using a larger presentation for his subjects, giving his paintings the perfect balance of real life feel and raw emotion.
